Welcome to Habib Drama Studio

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of drama? At Habib Drama Studio, I offer fun and unique drama lessons for Grades 1–12. Whether you're a first-time actor or a seasoned performer, I’m ready to guide you every step of the way. Each class is designed to cater for a cross-section of abilities and ensures that each child gets equal training and exposure. The class environment is a safe, accepting space where learners of all ages can create, express, experience and shine.

Classes take place once a week, and learners will explore the following facets of drama:

  • Voice production and modulation

  • Characterization

  • Story-telling

  • Improvisation

  • Movement and mime

  • Play building and scene blocking

  • Acting techniques

About Me

I have been acting for most of my life and teaching for half that time. I’ve been teaching drama in the valley at Fish Hoek Primary School for nine years. During that time, I have directed and scripted many successful large-scale productions involving hundreds of children. I have also modernised scripts and directed primary school students in performances of abridged Shakespearean plays at the annual Shakespeare Schools Festival, fostering a love and respect for the Bard’s work and providing the children with exposure and experience on the big stage.

I am passionate about drama and finding and developing the young actor in those I teach. My goal is for every learner to leave my drama class feeling as overjoyed and inspired as I did when I attended drama class in my teenage years.


The added value of drama training lies in the lifelong life skills it teaches – skills that will help build successful careers and social relationships. Drama training assists children in finding and expressing their voice and emotions, builds confidence, develops creativity and stimulates the imagination.
